Oracle Quality (E-Business Suite): Authorization flaw allows data manipulation

CVE-2026-101831High 8.1

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle Quality, a module of Oracle E-Business Suite, contains a vulnerability in the Internal Operations component. An attacker with a low-privileged account and network access via HTTP can create, modify or delete critical quality data and access data accessible to the module. The NVD and Oracle score is 8.1 (High); VulDB rates it 6.3 and classifies it as a privilege management issue.

Affected

  • Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Quality, supported versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15

Fixed in

  • Unknown from the available sources. Apply the October 2026 Critical Patch Update (CPU) and follow My Oracle Support Note KA923 for the EBS 12.2 patch set.

Workaround

  • No specific Oracle workaround found.
  • Restrict HTTP access to the EBS application tier and keep it off the public internet.
  • Review low-privileged accounts, since exploitation requires an authenticated session.

Exploitation

  • No evidence found of exploitation in the wild or public proof of concept for this CVE.
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.
  • EPSS 0.00365 (low predicted exploitation probability).
  • Not found in the CISA KEV catalog as of 21 October 2026, per a general statement covering the October CPU.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether Oracle Quality is installed and whether the EBS application tier is reachable from the internet.
  • Apply the October 2026 EBS CPU as a priority, especially for internet-facing systems, following KA923.
  • Until patched, restrict HTTP access and review low-privileged accounts for unnecessary access.
  • Monitor for unusual changes to quality or production data.
  • Note that sources differ on severity (8.1 versus 6.3) and CWE (CWE-284 versus CWE-269); use the vendor score for prioritisation.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
