← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Oracle Cost Management, a module of Oracle E-Business Suite versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15, contains an improper access control flaw (CWE-284) in the Cost Planning component. A remote attacker with network access via HTTP and a low-privileged account can take over Oracle Cost Management, with high impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability. No user interaction is required. CVSS 3.1 base score: 8.8.

Affected

  • Oracle Cost Management (Oracle E-Business Suite), Cost Planning component
  • Versions 12.2.3 to 12.2.15

Fixed in

  • Unknown. The fixed patch number could not be verified. See Oracle's October 2026 Critical Patch Update advisory and My Oracle Support note KA923.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround found.
  • Interim: restrict HTTP access to Oracle E-Business Suite to the internal network or VPN.

Exploitation

  • No exploitation known for this CVE in the sources reviewed. No public proof of concept and no CISA KEV listing found.
  • CISA SSVC assessment: Exploitation none, not automatable, total technical impact.
  • One source states that Oracle names no exploitation for the October high-severity flaws; it is unclear whether this covers this CVE.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether Oracle Cost Management is licensed and used.
  • Apply the October 2026 Oracle CPU fix for E-Business Suite once the patch number is confirmed, together with the Database and Fusion Middleware patches it depends on.
  • Until patched, restrict HTTP access to E-Business Suite and review accounts that allow self-registration or weak account control.
  • Monitor E-Business Suite web and application logs for unusual access.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
