Oracle Trusted Answer Search: Privilege escalation via Oracle Net (PL/SQL package)

CVE-2026-101501Critical 9.9

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A flaw in the PL/SQL package of Oracle Trusted Answer Search 26.1 allows an attacker with low privileges and network access via Oracle Net to affect the product. Successful exploitation can allow unauthorized creation, deletion or modification of critical data, limited read access, and a repeatable hang or crash. Because the scope is changed, the impact may extend beyond Trusted Answer Search. CVSS 3.1 base score is 9.9 (critical).

Affected

  • Oracle Trusted Answer Search 26.1
  • Installed as a package with Oracle AI Database

Fixed in

Unknown. The patch number and fixed build are not confirmed in the sources; check Oracle's Patch Availability Document linked from the advisory.

Workaround

Unknown. No vendor workaround found. As general hardening, restrict Oracle Net listener access to required internal hosts and limit database accounts to least privilege.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of exploitation in the wild found.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • EPSS score 0.00411 (low predicted exploitation probability).
  • Oracle states the CVE is not remotely exploitable without authentication.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether Trusted Answer Search 26.1 is installed; if not, there is no direct impact.
  • If installed, treat as high priority.
  • Confirm the Oracle Net listener is not reachable from untrusted networks.
  • Apply Oracle's patch as soon as the patch document identifies the fixed build.
  • Monitor for unusual database activity meanwhile.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
