Arista CloudVision CUE: Stored cross-site scripting
Summary
A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the on-premises Arista CloudVision CUE Wi-Fi management component allows an attacker with access to the adjacent network to inject malicious content. The content runs when an authenticated user views the affected page, which can lead to session compromise, access to sensitive data, changes to system state or disruption of services. The product is only vulnerable if the CV-CUE UI is enabled and running.
Affected
- Arista CloudVision CUE (on-premises, CloudVision Portal) 2021.2.0 to 2026.2.0
- Default configuration: not affected
- Vulnerable only if the CV-CUE UI is enabled and running
Fixed in
- Upgrade to CloudVision Portal 2026.2.1 or later
Workaround
- No vendor workaround or mitigation available
- Interim, own recommendation: disable the CV-CUE UI if the Wi-Fi management UI is not needed
Exploitation
- Arista found the issue internally and is not aware of malicious exploitation
- CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total
- Not listed as known exploited
- No public proof of concept found
Our recommendation
- Check whether CV-CUE is in use with the command "cvpi status aware"
- Upgrade CloudVision Portal to 2026.2.1 or later
- Until patched, disable the CV-CUE UI if it is not required
- Keep the management platform off user and guest networks
- Prioritise admin-facing systems for patching
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.

Original description (NVD)
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability may allow an unauthenticated attacker with adjacent-network access to inject malicious content that executes when an authenticated user views affected content. Successful exploitation may allow the attacker to compromise the victim's authenticated browser session, access sensitive data, modify system state, or disrupt affected services.
