Summary

CrushFTP before 7.3.0 contains a Cross-Site Request Forgery vulnerability in its web administration interface. CSRF protection is disabled by default. Affected

Fixed in

  • Version 7.3.0 according to the CNA record. The vendor release page does not confirm this wording.
  • Unknown whether later 7.x releases contain further fixes for this issue.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround found.
  • Restrict access to the web administration interface to a management network or VPN.

Exploitation

  • Public proof of concept: yes (Exploit-DB 36126, published 2015).
  • Exploited in the wild: no evidence found. Not listed in CISA KEV.

  • Restrict the web administration interface to trusted networks or VPN access.
  • Ensure administrators log out before browsing the internet and use separate accounts for admin tasks.
  • Review existing administrator and user accounts for unexpected entries, especially root-level accounts.
  • Monitor for new or changed users and configuration changes.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
