← All vulnerabilities

Summary

IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty versions 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.10 are affected when the batchManagement-1.0 feature is enabled. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit the flaw over the network without user interaction to corrupt the persisted status of batch job instances. According to IBM, the impact is limited to integrity (high) and availability (low), with no confidentiality impact.

Affected

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 26.0.0.10
  • Relevant when the batchManagement-1.0 feature is enabled

Fixed in

  • Interim fix that resolves APAR DT502467, applied on top of the minimum fix pack level it requires
  • Liberty Fix Pack 26.0.0.11 or later (targeted availability 4Q2026 according to IBM)

Workaround

None listed by IBM.

Exploitation

  • No public exploitation known at the time of publication.
  • CISA SSVC assessment: Exploitation none, Automatable yes, Technical Impact partial.

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all Liberty servers and their versions, and check whether the batchManagement-1.0 feature is enabled.
  • Prioritise internet-facing servers and servers with batch management enabled.
  • Apply the interim fix for APAR DT502467 or upgrade to Fix Pack 26.0.0.11 or later as soon as it is available, and check the IBM bulletin for the exact build.
  • Disable the batchManagement-1.0 feature where it is not needed.
  • Monitor the IBM bulletin, NVD and CISA KEV for changes.
