Progress Sitefinity Next.js SDK: Server-Side Request Forgery
Summary
The npm package @progress/sitefinity-nextjs-sdk, used by the Sitefinity Next.js Renderer, contains a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability (CWE-918). A remote attacker can make the server send requests to an attacker-controlled host, which may expose sensitive information. No user privileges are required, but user interaction is needed according to the CVSS vector. Sites on the classic Sitefinity CMS front end are outside this advisory.
Affected
- @progress/sitefinity-nextjs-sdk npm package, versions 15.1.8326 through 15.4.8637 (affected range per CVE record: 15.1.8326 to before 15.4.8638)
- Sitefinity Next.js Renderer deployments using these versions
Fixed in
- Unknown. The exact fixed version could not be verified from the sources. Version 15.4.8641 is listed as the current npm release on jsDelivr, but it is not confirmed as the fix.
Workaround
- Unknown. The vendor advisory text retrieved does not describe a workaround.
- Interim measures (not vendor guidance): restrict outbound HTTP/HTTPS from the Next.js renderer host to required destinations and block access to cloud metadata and internal address ranges.
Exploitation
- Not known to be exploited in the wild. Not listed in the CISA KEV catalog in the checked alert (partial check).
- No public proof-of-concept exploit found.
Our recommendation
- Check whether a public Sitefinity Next.js renderer uses the affected SDK versions.
- Obtain the fixed version from the Progress advisory and verify it with npm view before updating.
- Plan the update together with the other Next.js items in the September 2026 advisory, including the remote code execution issues.
- Apply the interim restrictions on outbound requests until the update is installed.
- Monitor outbound connections from the renderer host.
Public exploits
PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
