Asia Garden theme: PHP object injection without authentication

CVE-2026-62125Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The WordPress theme Asia Garden in versions up to and including 1.3.1 contains an unauthenticated PHP object injection flaw (CWE-502), rated CVSS 9.8 (critical). A remote attacker can send crafted data to the website without logging in, which can cause the server to process harmful objects. Whether this leads to code execution depends on the other PHP software on the site that can be abused as a gadget chain, which is unknown.

Affected

  • ThemeREX Asia Garden WordPress theme, versions up to and including 1.3.1
  • Vendor-specific version ranges are not otherwise confirmed by the vendor

Fixed in

Unknown. No fixed version has been published; do not assume that 1.3.1 is patched.

Workaround

  • No vendor-specific workaround published.
  • Deactivate and remove the theme if it is not required.
  • Restrict exposure of the site, for example with a WAF rule set (Patchstack has published a mitigation rule).

Exploitation

  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact total.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV; no known exploitation reported.
  • No public proof of concept found; this does not prove that none exists.
  • EPSS 0.00304 (Vulners).

Our recommendation

  • Check whether the Asia Garden theme is installed on any internet-facing WordPress site.
  • If installed, deactivate and replace it with a maintained theme, or apply mitigation until a fixed version is released.
  • Enable a WAF or mitigation rule and review web server logs for unusual requests to the theme; treat any hit as a possible compromise.
  • Check other installed plugins and themes for known PHP object injection gadget chains.
  • Keep WordPress core and all other components up to date and monitor ThemeREX and Patchstack for a fix.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
