WineShop WordPress theme: PHP Object Injection

CVE-2026-62090Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The WineShop WordPress theme up to and including version 3.20 contains an unauthenticated PHP Object Injection flaw (CWE-502). An remote attacker can send crafted serialized data to the website without logging in or any user interaction. Patchstack rates it as high priority and CISA SSVC lists it as automatable with total technical impact; exploitation in the wild is not confirmed. Whether code execution is actually reachable depends on the PHP classes present in the installed code and plugins.

Affected

  • WineShop WordPress theme, all versions up to and including 3.20
  • Newer releases (for example 3.23.0 on ThemeForest) are not confirmed as fixed for this CVE

Fixed in

Unknown. No vendor advisory or confirmed fixed version was found.

Workaround

  • No vendor or Patchstack workaround confirmed in the sources.
  • Patchstack has reportedly issued a mitigation rule; verify this in the Patchstack entry before relying on it.

Exploitation

  • Not listed in CISA KEV.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact total.
  • No public proof of concept found in searches; this does not prove none exists.

Our recommendation

  • Check every client WordPress site for the WineShop theme and its version, including child themes and bundled copies.
  • If the version is 3.20 or older, or cannot be confirmed, deactivate and remove the theme if it is not needed.
  • If it is needed, place a WAF or virtual patch in front of the site and check with ThemeREX or Patchstack for an official fix.
  • Review sites for unexpected admin accounts and files, as they may already be compromised.
  • Monitor the Patchstack entry and ThemeREX for a fix.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
