Wine House WordPress theme: Unauthenticated PHP Object Injection

CVE-2026-62053Critical 9.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

The WordPress theme Wine House up to and including version 3.20 contains an unauthenticated PHP Object Injection vulnerability (CVSS 9.8, critical). An attacker can send crafted data so that the website processes it as PHP objects, which can lead to harmful actions on the server. Public WordPress sites running this theme are exposed by default, and the vendor and aggregator sources report the impact as possible arbitrary code execution, which is not independently verified.

Affected

  • WordPress Wine House theme, versions up to and including 3.20
  • Vendor mapping: ThemeREX (the ThemeForest and Fuel Themes WooCommerce listings should be checked to confirm which package is in use)

Fixed in

Unknown. No fixed version or vendor advisory was found. Do not assume a version number; check the Patchstack page and the vendor changelog.

Workaround

  • No vendor workaround found.
  • Deactivate the theme on internet-facing sites if it is not essential.
  • Restrict access to the site where possible.
  • Patchstack describes a mitigation rule; have a security professional verify it before deployment.

Exploitation

  • Not known to be exploited in the wild; not listed in CISA KEV.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, automatable yes, technical impact total.
  • EPSS 0.00375 (Vulners).
  • No public proof of concept found; this does not prove that none exists.

Our recommendation

  • Check whether the Wine House theme is used on any website, especially internet-facing ones.
  • If it is in use, deactivate it or isolate the site until a fixed version is confirmed and applied.
  • Keep verified offline backups.
  • Review web server logs for unusual or malformed requests.
  • Add the theme to the asset inventory and track the vendor advisory for a fixed version.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
