Google Chrome: Memory corruption in Sandbox allows code execution

CVE-2026-113343High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome on desktop has a memory corruption flaw in its Sandbox component. A remote attacker can use a crafted HTML page to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox, which the record rates as CVSS 8.8. The attack requires that a user loads the malicious page, for example through a phishing link or a compromised website.

Affected

  • Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47 (CVE description)
  • Android Chrome builds before 156.0.8078.47 (secondary reports)
  • Chromium-based Microsoft Edge until it ships the Chromium fix (secondary reports)

Fixed in

  • Linux and Android: 156.0.8078.47 or later (secondary reports)
  • Windows and macOS: 156.0.8078.48 or later (secondary reports, not confirmed in the primary advisory)

Workaround

No workaround. Update to a fixed version and restart the browser, because the fix only takes effect after a restart.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of in-the-wild exploitation found; CISA KEV: No
  • No public proof-of-concept found
  • Chromium severity: Medium
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, automatable no, technical impact total

Our recommendation

  • Confirm that all Chrome and Edge installations run 156.0.8078.48 or later on Windows and macOS, and 156.0.8078.47 or later on Linux and Android
  • Force a browser restart on endpoints with pending updates
  • Check the Google advisory and the Chromium bug page for changes, especially if the flaw is later marked as exploited

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
