← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome contains a use-after-free vulnerability in the Turbolev component (CVE-2026-113338, CVSS 8.8, Chromium severity High). A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by luring a user to a crafted HTML page. The attack requires user interaction, but no privileges.

Affected

  • Google Chrome builds prior to 156.0.8078.47
  • Other Chromium-based browsers: unconfirmed

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 or later (stated for the affected builds)
  • Windows and macOS: 156.0.8078.48 according to secondary sources, not yet confirmed against the vendor post
  • Android and iOS: unconfirmed
  • Debian chromium: sources conflict, check the Debian security tracker

Workaround

Unknown. No workaround is documented; apply the browser update.

Exploitation

  • No in-the-wild exploitation or public proof of concept found at the time of research.
  • A point-in-time snapshot does not list it in CISA KEV; recheck the KEV catalogue.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to the latest stable version on all endpoints via the managed update channel, not only to 156.0.8078.47.
  • Restart the browser after updating and verify the installed version.
  • Patch Chromium-based browsers and Linux packages as separate tracks.
  • Give priority to endpoints that browse the web with Chrome.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
