Google Chrome: Memory corruption in ANGLE allows sandbox code execution

CVE-2026-113315High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

Google Chrome prior to 156.0.8078.47 contains a memory corruption flaw in ANGLE, Chrome's graphics abstraction layer. A remote attacker may potentially execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by luring a user to a crafted HTML page. Exploitation requires the victim to open the page, and Chromium-based browsers may be affected as well.

Affected

  • Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.47
  • Chromium-based browsers and Linux chromium packages that include the affected ANGLE code (version details unknown)

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 or later (Chrome 156 Stable release of 20 October 2026)
  • Later Chrome 156 stable builds are available and should be preferred
  • Debian chromium updates DSA 6577-1 and DLA 4853-1 (Linux distributions)

Workaround

No workaround known.

Exploitation

  • No evidence of exploitation in the wild found at time of research
  • Not listed in CISA KEV at time of research (verify live catalogue)
  • No public proof of concept found
  • EPSS score 0.00443

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to the latest Chrome 156 stable build on all endpoints
  • Check Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Chromium) and Linux chromium packages for the fixed version
  • Confirm that the managed update policy is active on all endpoints
  • Re-check CISA KEV and NVD in the coming days

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
