Affected

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 for Linux
  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47/.48 for Windows and Mac
  • Later Stable builds are available; the newest Stable build should be deployed (inclusion of this fix not independently verified)

Workaround

No vendor-documented workaround. Unknown whether disabling Google Lens reduces exposure.

Exploitation

  • No exploitation in the wild known.
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • Not listed in CISA KEV according to a third-party source (not directly verified).

Our recommendation

  • Update all Chrome installations to at least 156.0.8078.47, preferably the latest Stable build.
  • Confirm that browsers have been relaunched after the update.
  • Patch the whole Chrome 156 release, as other memory corruption fixes were included.
  • Apply Debian Chromium updates (DSA 6577-1, DLA 4853-1) on Debian-based systems.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
