CVE-2026-113155High 8.8

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Glic component of Google Chrome desktop allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attacker needs a victim to load a crafted HTML page, so user interaction is required. The NVD rates the CVE at CVSS 3.1 8.8 (High), and the description does not state that the sandbox escape is possible without further conditions.

Affected

  • Google Chrome desktop prior to 156.0.8078.47
  • Glic component of Google Chrome

Fixed in

  • Google Chrome 156.0.8078.47 or later (per the CVE description; check the current stable build on the Chrome Releases blog)
  • Microsoft Edge 156.0.4314.42 or later (per HKCERT)

Workaround

Unknown.

Exploitation

  • Not known to be exploited in the wild at the time of research (KEV: No in an older aggregator snapshot).
  • No public proof of concept found.
  • CISA SSVC: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.

Our recommendation

  • Update Google Chrome to 156.0.8078.47 or later and Microsoft Edge to 156.0.4314.42 or later on all systems.
  • Restart browsers after the update, because relaunches are often delayed.
  • Verify the installed versions across all workstations, including staff using Chromium-based browsers.
  • Monitor for exploitation news and reapply updates if a later build is announced.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
