IBM Langflow OSS: Code injection via eval/exec allows remote code execution
Summary
IBM Langflow OSS versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.4 contain a code injection flaw (CWE-94) in the eval/exec code path. An authenticated remote attacker with low privileges can inject code that is executed on the server, which is rated with high impact on confidentiality, integrity and availability. No user interaction is required, but the attacker needs a valid account on the Langflow instance.
Affected
- IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.4
Fixed in
- Upgrade to Langflow OSS 1.12.5 (IBM bulletin 7293016, to be confirmed).
- Alternatively, upgrade to Langflow OSS 1.13.0, which IBM bulletin 7294467 lists as fixing versions up to 1.12.8.
Workaround
- No documented workaround specifically for this CVE.
- For MCP stdio deployments, set LANGFLOW_MCP_SERVER_INTERPRETER_HARDENING=true and LANGFLOW_CUSTOM_COMPONENT_ADMIN_ONLY=true, then restart Langflow. These controls do not replace the upgrade.
- Keep LANGFLOW_ALLOW_PUBLIC_CUSTOM_COMPONENTS unset.
Exploitation
- No known exploitation in the wild found at the time of research.
- CISA SSVC assessment: Exploitation none, Automatable no, Technical Impact total.
- EPSS 0.82 % (percentile 57).
- No public proof-of-concept found in the sources reviewed.
- Not confirmed in the CISA KEV catalog in the sources reviewed; check the catalog directly.
Our recommendation
- Identify all Langflow OSS instances, including Docker and desktop installations, and their versions.
- Prioritise internet-facing and shared instances.
- Upgrade to 1.12.5 or, preferably, 1.13.0 after testing flows.
- Until patched, apply the MCP and custom component settings above and review user accounts.
- Rotate credentials if compromise is suspected.
- Monitor the IBM bulletin and CISA KEV for updates.

Original description (NVD)
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.4 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code due to improper neutralization of code in eval/exec.
