Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Management Center: SQL injection

CVE-2026-103792Critical 9.6

← All vulnerabilities

Summary

An SQL injection flaw (CWE-89) in the management component of Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Management Center allows an authenticated attacker with low privileges and remote network access to inject SQL commands. According to the CNA, this can lead to unauthorized access to managed systems. The CVSS score of 9.6 reflects a scope change. Exploitation requires a valid low-privileged account; no public exploit and no exploitation in the wild are known.

Affected

  • Feature Release 7.7.1.0 through 8.8 (upper bound unclear, see note below)
  • LTS2024: 7.13.1.0 through 7.13.1.80
  • LTS2025: 8.3.1.0 through 8.3.1.40
  • LTS2026: 8.6.1.0 through 8.6.1.20
  • Note: one third-party source describes the Feature Release range as through 8.8.0.0. Verify in the Dell advisory.

Fixed in

Unknown from the Dell advisory text. Third-party sources report the following fixed builds, not yet verified against Dell:

  • 8.9.0.0 or later
  • 8.6.1.30 or later
  • 8.3.1.50 or later
  • 7.13.1.90 or later

Workaround

Unknown. No workaround is documented; according to Brandefense, Dell lists none. Patching is the remedy.

Exploitation

  • No confirmed exploitation in the wild (OffSeq).
  • No public exploit known (VulDB); not fully verified.
  • CISA SSVC: exploitation none, not automatable.
  • EPSS: 0.37 % (percentile 31).

Our recommendation

  • Inventory all Data Domain Management Center instances and their versions.
  • Confirm the fixed builds in Dell advisory DSA-2026-416, then patch each release line.
  • Restrict access to the management interface to admin networks or a VPN; do not expose it to the internet.
  • Review and remove unused accounts and audit low-privilege accounts.
  • Monitor management logs for unusual queries or logins.

Public exploits

PoC-in-GitHub, Metasploit and Exploit-DB list nothing for this CVE.
